10 Sleeper Self Catering Apartment in Dunkeld

Large Self Catering DunkeldThe ancient town of Dunkeld is one of Perthshire's gems. It is nestling beneath thickly-wooded hills and at its heart lies the historic Cathedral.

Dunkeld was proclaimed the first ecclesiastical capital of Scotland by Scotland's first king, Kenneth MacAlpin and the majestic ruin of the Cathedral dominates the town. Many of the surrounding 17th century buildings have been beautifully restored giving an air of timeless tranquility.

The surrounding area is a paradise for walkers. The National Trust for Scotland looks after the splendid Visit Dunkeldwoodland area of The Hermitage where you will find one of the tallest trees in Britain. The walk to the Scottish Wildlife Trust's centre at Loch of the Lowes, home to breeding ospreys, is wonderful at any time of the year and there is a further extensive system of linked and way-marked paths covering 36 miles. There are opportunities for cycling, hill walking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and for the more adventurous a choice of Outdoor Activity centres - Nae Limits (Ballinluig), PGL (Dalguise) and Splash (Aberfeldy).

Dunkeld is the perfect base from which to explore Perthshire from the lowlands of Strathearn to some of the most scenic of Scottish glens.
